Children's Centre Monduli

In Monduli Chini, Arusha region, northern part of Tanzania, an institution for orphans and other vulnerable children was created after the successful model of Kamishango in order to provide the most essential things in life. In addition to a daily hot meal, the children receive school uniforms and school fees for the state school located in the same village. Furthermore, the children receive medical care. Afternoons the children receive assistence with their homework.

Seminars for children and adults are held on important topics such as hygiene, AIDS and malaria. This knowledge is brought into the extended families the children return to in the evening. Thus, the benefits of knowledge is multiplied.

The project was built on a 14 hectare site which the government provided free of charge. The association has created here a home for children and an educational centre. Both buildings were partly funded by a generous donor and the student group e-fellows.net with a "five-star relay race" and a student group of the Bavarian Elite-Akademie/München with the project clicks4charity.

With the active participation of the population, the project was launched in February 2010 with initially 48 orphans and is managed by St. Anna-sisters on behalf of "Lebenshilfe für Afrika".
